We have created a Chess Set that is great for travel and families. All the colours are 3D printed separately, so you do not need an AMS type system. (This also cuts down on printing time) First print the boards and then a set each of the inserts and chess pieces. Insert the little squares into the holes in the chess board. It's recommended that you slip these in on an angle (they should lock in). If they are too loose, you may glue them in, but if your printer is pretty well tuned this won't be an issue. Have fun!

okay, the spool was pulling the filament back and resulted in lots of gaps (I think), reprinting....

You have under extrusion with your printer. Check your nozzle is not blocked or the filament isn't jammed somewhere. This is not the fault of the profile.

Indeed, it clicked and struggled to push the filament through. no obvious clog though. thanks for the hint, will report back as soon as printed.

excellent model, but if you do not remove the two bishops from the plate, they will be damaged. They need to be printed separately. Thank you!

Nice print! appreciate the love for us non AMS people. I do wish the pieces came out easier, but that just my personal preference. Up is they won’t fall out. A remix this with magnets would be dope too!

Once you use it a little bit, it should slightly loosen up where you put the chess pieces in. That's what I found with my test prints.
