Description

These sturdy bases for crochet baskets or totes have feet to protect the cord on the bottom from wear and tear.  The smaller base is close to 9in x 6in (P and X series) and the larger base is approximately 12in x 6in (H2D only). Two styles of handles are included for totes.

Holes are sized for a 5mm cord.  Hooks are 6.5 mm to start and 8mm for the rest of the basket.

New to making baskets? Here is a great tutorial to get you started.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKCOFsPILo8

When making larger baskets and baskets with corners, on the first row of single crochet stitches, place two single crochet stitches in each of the larger holes for a perfectly shaped basket.

Handles are attached by completing the first loop of the SC stitch, then sliding the hook through the hole in the handle before wrapping for the final loop.  Complete stitch as usual.  On final round of slip stitch around, go through the hole in the handle again for a very secure attachment.

These are very sturdy bases. If you would prefer a thinner base, use the Scale tool, unselect uniform size, and scale Z to 80%.  Do not change X or Y or the holes will not fit the hook and cord.
