Description

My handle recently broke a bit of plastic on one of the “ventilation” notches.
Seems that spare parts are not often needed and therefore they´re quite expensive (for a bit of plastic). Using the same money for decent filament, one can print quite a bunch of these handles - so i grabbed my caliper and created a matching spare part my own.

It has some “less fancy” geometry compared to the original one (who needs a 2m radius on such a handle, if a straight version will do as well), but it will serve it´s purpose. The notches have a snug fit on purpose, to keep the hatch in place.

Since printing it as one single model would require quite much support and would be also prone to be difficult to print, I decided to split it in half. They can be plugged together - perhaps with a bit of glue if you want. Printing requires no support at all if the arms are flat on the build plate and the handle part pointing upwards.

Designed to fit on a Braas Luminex roof hatch, and it might fit as well on a Klöber Prismax - as well as many others around that share the same geometry for this handle. Printed on an A1 Mini in PETG-CF, it should last a while. And even if not, just print a new one ;-)

Of course, use any filament of your choice as well.

If the handle is exposed to high temperatures at the attic, or direct sunlight that´s going to heat it up accordingly - use a filament that can handle such high temperatures…

Happy printing…  :-)
