The safety cylinder or lock of my meter cabinet broke off some time ago Unfortunately, the manufacturer (Stiebel & John, Hager, ABB) no longer had suitable spare parts, as the cabinet is from 1983 Accordingly, I reconstructed and remodeled the parts

Specifically, it is item no 38218 of type ZB 55 The distributor is a standard field distributor of series N, type 2/4 A according to DIN 43870

The modeled cylinder consists of four individual parts:

  • Handle
  • Outer casing
  • Inner screw connection
  • Lock

First, the outer casing is guided through the opening of the meter cabinet and secured on the inside with the nut

The lock is now clipped to the back of the screw connection on the inside

In the final step, the handle is also guided through the outer casing from the front until it protrudes from the lock on the back This allows the cabinet to be re-locked

The construction works without problems, but there may still be potential for optimization regarding the threads and the handle

Boost Me (for free)

If you can make use of the safety cylinder and it solves your problems, I would appreciate a boost
