Description

Boost Me (for free)

Need a modified version made? Send me a boost and it would greatly expedite the process of making a custom size for you.
Just be sure to provide the thickness of the laptop screen and the portable monitor screen, and include the desired angle as well. Though, I still definitely recommend the 16 degree bend.

Sick of setting your portable monitor next to your laptop?
Save more space and turn your head less by attaching it directly to the top of your laptop screen using this easy 3D print!

Why it's better:

-Can use fully on your lap if a desk/table isn't available.

-doesn't require you to pack an external keyboard (Like similar print designs).
-Saves desk/table space

-Less head turning

-Improve working efficiency

-Portable and SUPER easy to print

I hate how I can't use my portable monitor when working on my lap when there's no table/desk around.
But now I can!

I've also partnered this print with a clip-on mouse pad designed by @Check3d which can be found HERE

Seriously this print is a game changer for me when I'm working on the go. Especially if there's no desk available.

Different size options:

There are multiple plates in the print file that are separated by the angle of the top screen, and how tight the prints will grip your laptop screen.

-I most recommend the 16-degree tight fitted version. (Plate 4)
-Tighter fit will prevent wiggling

-Greater angle (Degrees) will result in second screen being tilted forward further. Making it less likely for you laptop screen to fall over due to the weight.
Feel free to experiment with the options to find what best suits your needs.

If your screen(s) don't quite fit right in the slots, filing/sanding the part down a bit will likely do the trick. Or, just reach out with the thickness of your screen and I can make some adjustments for you - Boosting my model might help expedite this process for you ;)

I hope you find this helpful.
Happy Printing!

In rare cases, improper installation or very heavy screens could place stress on your laptop lid. Please check compatibility, use carefully, and install at your own risk. Hey! I was wondering if you could do a custom for my Acer PM161Q (6.45mm) and Dell P2222H. The Dell is kind of unique, as it doesn't have a completely flat back and starts at about 18mm at the top bezel and protrudes out the back to about 23.5mm.

for a boost, I can absolutely try. and are you able to approximate the HEIGHT distance between where the monitor goes from 18mm thick to where the 23.5mm thick section STARTS? this will help to get the fit more accurate. is the back a clean slant or curve?

Hi! I have the almost exact same monitor and struggled to modify the model for it. I can give 1 or multiple boosts if you think you can do a model that works. Mine is Dell P2422H. It does have a big curve at the back (attached photo) Will be paired with an Arzopa portable monitor (10mm thick) If you can do it, I will boost right now. Challenge accepted? Let me know if you need other measurements too!

Would it help if I provided the STP file used for this other user's custom print? Then you'd be able to modify the model much more easily so long as you have a modeling software of sorts.

also just notice my main monitor the one listed above isnt flat on the back but my second is another sceptre (C275W-1920RN Series) with a depth of roughly 11.5mm, the laptop monitor with being roughly 3.75 and thats tight up against it with the caliper

Thanks for the boost! This print was not made for that exact application, but yes I can certainly try. Please give me the thicknesses of the different screens rather than the screen size itself though👍 I need the distance from front to back of both. And let me know if the default 16-degree bend is okay with you, this will leave the monitor tilting forward slightly.

Perfect! I went with the zero degree version because I didn’t like the forward-leaning look and feel, but I’m very pleased. Eliminates a lot is used space and easy to take anywhere with you. Thanks!

Printed great. Works alright with my laptop. Have to get the built-in screen just right else the weight of the external causes issues. Also laptop wants to flip very easily with this setup.

Sorry, but there must be a mistake. Surely your screens aren't 2-6 inches thick...

Hi, thanks so much for this print. My portable screen is 14mm thick, while my Laptop is perfect with the 10mm gap, would it be possible to have a 16deg version wirh these measures? Thanks in advance

Dang, gotta say, that's a thick screen. I appreciate the boost though, and will certainly get right on adjusting this for you👍

I've just added a new print profile titled "Special requests". Your modified version can be found there. One side was left around 10 mm thick, while the other slim side was changed to 14 mm - as requested. I hope this works well for you.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply, I really appreciate it! Yes the bottom of the screen is thicker but it's very light overall. Going to try it right away!

Thanks for the boost! I've just realized how thick 23mm is for a laptop screen and... wow. That's a chunky one. I've just wrapped up this modification for you though. You can find it in the "Special requests" print profile👍 I hope this works!

Really good idea - have a boost. Could you possibly add a custom size for me? My main screen is 6.6mm thick and the portable one to sit on top is 8.7mm thick. If you could do the 16 degree and the 8 degree it would be really appreciated!
