Paint Pal: Mix & Match Magnetic Paint Caddy

Keep your paints organized and secure with this modular magnetic paint caddy. Mix and match your hobby paints into a well organised system that compliments the workflow of a maker. Rearrange them anytime to fit a project on the go, or set it and forget it by storing them onto a shelf, ready for the next project.

I used 12 M3*8mm socket bolts to fasten the 3d printed parts together. Additionally, 8 12x2mm disc magnets to snap the trim cover that also acts as the magnetic lock keeping the holders in place.

Future version with Heated inserts soon available. I printed my caddy with both PLA and PETG to test stress on the print. Both have successfully passed so far.

UPDATE – March 22, 2026: Restructured Print Profiles and Work on Full release

• Updates to Holders

  - US Art Supply 2oz tested and waiting on picture to add to print profiles. (currently available in experiment)

  - Amsterdam 120ml paint tube tested and waiting on picture to add to print profiles. (currently available in experiment)

  - Citadel now has a draft to match the conformity unique to these bottle shapes and tweaked for improved fitment.

  - All currently available holders have been updated to a new style that better allows for horizontal grasp and place of the paint bottle.
