OLD Version of the Xtool Adapter – Improved Design for a Perfect Fit

The latest version of our Xtool adapter comes with redesigned components that now connect using a male–female slip-fit system. For the best possible seal, we strongly recommend applying adhesive.

Installation tips for an airtight setup:

  1. First, screw the adapter into your Xtool and wrap the connection with high-quality tape to ensure maximum airtightness.
  2. The remaining parts simply slide together—secure them with glue for a firm, leak-free hold.
  3. Don’t forget to insulate your hose as well.

Thanks to user feedback, Version 3 may include a threaded hose end. Even with threads, we still recommend reinforcing the connection with tape or glue for total reliability.

All edges and curves have also been refined for smoother airflow and a cleaner look.

Your feedback and experience help us shape Version 3. A little boost would help a lot—thank you!

A custom 3D-printed side exhaust adapter designed specifically for the xTool S1 laser cutter.
Unlike standard rear-exit exhaust solutions, this adapter redirects the airflow out of the side of the machine, saving workspace depth and allowing better placement of your laser in tight or enclosed setups.

It is engineered to connect directly to the original xTool S1 exhaust hose – no extra adapters, clamps, or modifications are required. The fit is precise, ensuring secure attachment and smooth airflow.

📐 Specifications:

  • Device: xTool S1 (20W / 40W)
  • Orientation: Side-facing outlet (90° from stock position)
  • Hose Fit: Original xTool exhaust hose
  • Mounting: Replaces the stock exhaust port cover
  • Design: Compact, minimal airflow resistance, reinforced structure

🛠️ Print Settings:

  • Printer Type: FDM
  • Material: PLA+ (indoor use) or PETG (higher temp & durability)
  • Layer Height: 0.2 mm
  • Walls: 3+ perimeters for strength
  • Infill: 25–40%
  • Supports: Minimal – only for overhangs if needed
  • Nozzle Size: 0.4 mm
  • Estimated Print Time: ~4–6 hours depending on settings

🧾 Installation:

  1. Remove the stock exhaust plate from the xTool S1.
  2. Align and insert the side exhaust adapter in its place.
  3. Attach the original xTool exhaust hose directly to the new outlet.
  4. Ensure the hose is routed freely without kinks or sharp bends.
  5. Test airflow before starting laser operations.

💡 Benefits:

  • Saves workspace depth – perfect for wall or shelf placement
  • Maintains original hose compatibility
  • No extra hardware or tools required
  • Improves cable/hose management in tight spaces
  • Quick install & easy removal

changing my earlier rating from a three to a five based solely on the creators response to noted questions in design, the new design photos are uploaded in maker world. However, the print model appears to not have been uploaded yet photos are fantastic that have been uploaded by the creator . I’m looking to print the new model as soon as I am able to obtain it.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I will try to fix the problem, but I printed the model correctly without the filler that prevented the air from passing through. Yes, the model is intended for gluing, but the idea of remaking the model as a male female is good. I will make version 2

Thank you for the response! I did turn supports on when I printed and it created a massive one in the center of the rear chute with the duct , just under the closed section. I will be glad to redo if I print again and that changes. Orherwise great print.

Looks like this is the first revision. The photos show a slip fit, but when I download it looks like a glue fit. Is there a link to the slip fit?

Hi, I don't know why, but you're right. I tried it and it's really the first version. I created a new profile for printing. I'm adding a link. I have all the connections taped over with adhesive tape, not only the printed ones but also the others on the air outlet. In this print, only the part in the laser is glued to the tube (just in case). I've been using it for half a year and everything is fine. If any adjustments are needed, I'll fix it. https://makerworld.com/cs/models/2532267-side-exhaust-adapter-for-xtool-s1-ver-1#profileId-2786988

Unfortunately, the model requires significant post-processing. For one, the hose doesn't fit and needs to be secured with tape, or you can heat the outlet and forcefully squeeze in the XTool adapter along with the hose. Secondly, the outlet opening is closed and needs to be sawn open. I loaded the model multiple times because I wanted to rule out a slicing error. It was the same with all models. A pity, otherwise a great idea and execution
