Description
UniFi Floating Mount – Screw & Modular Options
Mount your UniFi Flex 2.5G (USW-Flex-2.5G-8 or USW-Flex-2.5G-8-PoE) switch with confidence using this modular, OpenSCAD-powered system. Includes mounts for Multiconnect, Multipoint (Multiboard), GOEWS, and a fully parametric screw mount that lets you tailor your install to your exact needs.
Compatible with:
Included Mount Types (via Print Profiles)
Screw Mount (Parametric + Preconfigured)
The included OpenSCAD script supports a wide range of flat head screws, including:
- Metric: M2–M8
- Imperial: #4–#12, 1/4”, 5/16”
Several preconfigured print profiles are included for commonly used sizes:
- M3, M4, M5
- #6, #8, ¼”
You can also customize:
- Screw size and head type (flat, pan, round)
- Hole spacing and offset
Plate size, orientation, and countersinking
All via the Screw_Specification and other parameters in the .scad file.
Multiconnect Mount
- Provided in both Multiboard and OpenGrid spacing
- Includes vertical and horizontal orientations
- Compatible with the standard Multiconnect ecosystem
GOEWS Mount
- Compatible with GOEWS cleat-style rail systems
- Includes vertical and horizontal orientations
- I recommend using flush bolts for GOEWS
Multipoint Mount (Multiboard Snap-In)
- Snaps directly into Multiboard backers
- Provided in both vertical and horizontal orientations
Printing Recommendations
- Most mounts can be printed flat on the bed with no supports
- Mounts with overhangs (e.g., GOEWS) should be printed on their side with tree supports
- Use 15% infill minimum and 3+ perimeters for strength
- Screw mounts are designed for flat head screws to sit flush in countersunk holes (UniFi typically includes M3 screws)
- Be careful when removing mounts from the bed to avoid flexing or cracking
