Opek 17' Chameleon 25' Thread Protector Cap 3/8-24

I created this thread protector cap for my Opek 17' collapsible whip. It should fit other brands as well that use 3/8-24 threads. This cap also fits the Chameleon 25' whip as well. There is nothing worse than dropping and damaging your antenna. This cap will protect the threads and keep them clean.

There will be two profiles to print. The Scaled profile will most likely fit for most cases. The 100% size file will need a 3/8-24 bottom tap run through it to make it fit. If you have a 3/8-24 bottom tap I would use the 100% file. If you don't just use the scaled file. The scaled file is about 106% larger than the 100% file if you want to adjust the scale yourself.

UPDATE!! I added a New Print profile for a knurled version. This probably has the best fit overall. No need to scale etc unless your filament is not properly calibrated and is over extruding.

I printed only in PETG, and PETG-CF, PLA should work but I have not tried it.
