Description

UPDATE 30.10.2024: I increased the size of the slider for 4% to help with assembly.

I remixed the original model to allow different colors for clean and dirty sides.

File dishwasher_body_magnets_v2.stl has 3 holes for phi10x4 mm magnets.

File dishwasher_body_CUSTOM_magnets_v2.stl has negative parts modifiers, which you can scale to fit your magnet size in my print profile. Otherwise split stl to parts and set negative part.

When changing a height of magnet hole you should also adjust Y position of it to start at the bottom*. Calculate new position using the following formula:

Y_new = -5.08 + your_new_hole_height / 2

For example if you want a 5 mm magnet hole:

scale Y size of a magnet hole to 5 mm,
set Y position of a magnet hole to Y = -5.08 + 5/2 = -2.58 mm

*Bambu studio sets positions of parts based on their center of gravity. When scaling a model it scales it uniformly from its center of gravity in all directions. Therefore we need to change the position of holes to sit flat on a buildplate. When setting position of the magnet hole we need to set position of its center of gravity from center of gravity of a whole model. The formula I provided does that.

Nice, simple design. Printed in Bambu PLA Wood Birch with Inland Black PLA+ for the lettering. Printed super well and works great. Fitment of the slider is good as well. Snaps in without issue and slides freely.

I’m giving it 5 stars because it’s great. My only criticism would be make the slider a tad bit bigger so you can clip it on without breaking. 3.5%-5% bigger is good. At 5% it’s securely on there but a bit loose when opening and closing the dishwasher door. Don’t print the slider through the app (iOS at least) as you don’t have the option to enlarge it.

Good. Enlarged slider 5% to allow easier install. Love the custom magnet adjustment, but found that in addition to setting size of magnet, the location/depth would need additional adjustment or else it may end up inside the model, with no exterior hole (or not the set depth). The hold seems to 'start' in the middle of the model? Could also be my inexperience.

Great model! I printed the slider on it’s side to make it less prone to breaking when fitting it on the sign. Works great and finally stops colleagues mixing clean and dirty items in the dishwasher

Smart choice to print it sideways! It probably uses less support material as well. Glad it's working well for you and solving the dishwasher mix-up issue :)
