3D-printed Wheel Chock with Holder for Trailers – Practical, Secure, Customizable

Anyone who regularly travels with a trailer knows the problem: a secure stand on uneven ground is not always guaranteed. Provisional solutions like wooden blocks are often unstable, slippery, or simply impractical to transport. This is where my project comes in.

I designed a robust wheel chock with a matching holder, specifically optimized for FDM 3D printing. The design is functional, durable, and designed for easy handling. Thanks to the compact holder, the chock can be attached directly to the trailer frame – so it's always ready when you need it.

The model can best be printed from PETG or another weather-resistant material.

Whether at the campsite, when transporting heavy loads, or in daily use with horse or boat trailers – this wheel chock offers a secure solution for various applications.

Advantages at a Glance:

  • ✅ Stable, non-slip design
  • ✅ Integrated holder for easy attachment to the trailer
  • ✅ Weather-resistant thanks to suitable filament (e.g. PETG)
  • ✅ Print-friendly
  • ✅ Modular and easy to transport

⚠️ Important Safety Note:
Every user is responsible for the safe use, regular inspection, and maintenance of the chock and holder. Specifically check the component for cracks, deformations, or material fatigue – especially with frequent use or heavy loads. Use is at your own risk

A very good model in advance. It saved me the trouble of designing something myself. However, I see a problem with the holder, and this has now been confirmed after 3 months of use. The layer adhesion on the holder for the 4 small holders for the wedge has broken due to use and normal vibrations, and unfortunately I have even lost a wedge because of it. I think I'll print the holder upright to get a different layer orientation where it should be more stable

That's a very good remark. So far I haven't had any problems. The holder should then be pressed upright on the left or right side. When printing upright on the bottom part, there could be problems with the locking mechanism of the wedge

I printed it vertically with the brace on top. I used PETG CF and it now gives a more stable impression. We'll see if it holds

Very good model, thank you for your work! I had problems with the tree supports (see picture). Then switched to normal supports -> TOP!

What a shame, does it warp with ABS? Maybe a brim will help

The wedge is a bit loose in the holder, but nothing a bit of foam rubber couldn't fix. Awesome thing !! Simple and functional

Thank you for the great feedback. Yes, exactly, I left some play so that it sits a little looser. The idea with the neoprene is a very great idea
