Boost Me (for free)

Hi, I'm designing these 3D models in my free time (it's just my hobby), always providing all of my designs for free here on Makerworld. Often prototyping requires a lot of material, so if you like my work, consider supporting me for free by dropping a boost. =) But whatever you decide, enjoy the models and happy printing! :) - Oli

🚀 Introduction
This is a Vacuum Adapter for the Bosch GCM 12 GDL Mitre Saw. It's a  simple, snap-in solution for dust collection. This adapter plugs directly into the saw’s 35 mm outlet via two nubs and instantly converts it to a 50 mm port, so you can hook up your standard vacuum hose (secure it with a clamp) and keep your workspace clean.

ℹ️ NOTE

  • Compatibility: Specifically designed for the Bosch GCM 12 GDL mitre saw’s 35 mm dust outlet.
  • Connection Mechanism: Two flexible nubs lock into the saw’s outlet. Press them inward to release the adapter.
  • Orientation: Print the adapter lying flat with supports under the nub area—this counter-intuitive orientation dramatically strengthens the locking tabs and prevents breakage.

🖨️ Recommended Print Settings

  • Material:
    • PLA (easy, rigid, works great)
    • PETG (optional for extra toughness)
  • Layer Height: 0.24 mm
  • Walls (Perimeters): 5
  • Infill: 15 % Gyroid (lightweight yet strong enough to hold a hose clamp)
  • Supports: ✅ Yes (necessary under the nubs when printing flat)
  • Build Plate: Heated or unheated (standard adhesion methods apply)
  • Speeds & Temps: Follow your filament manufacturer’s guidelines—no special tuning required.

🔧 Installation & Use

  1. Print Orientation: Lay the adapter flat so the nub-side faces up; enable supports under each nub.
  2. Remove Supports: Gently clear supports from around the nubs.
  3. Attach to Saw: Align the two nubs with the saw’s 35 mm outlet and push firmly until you hear a click.
  4. Connect Hose: Slide a 50 mm vacuum hose over the adapter’s outer diameter and tighten with a standard hose clamp.
  5. Release: To remove, squeeze both nubs inward and pull the adapter straight off.

⚠️ Disclaimer
Use at your own risk. Ensure the adapter is securely locked before operating the saw. I’m not liable for any damage to your equipment or injury—always follow Bosch safety guidelines.

✨ Enjoy a cleaner workspace! Share your prints, post your photos, and let me know any improvements or tweaks you discover. Happy printing!
