Description

While looking for a simple locking solution for my drawer, I came across a model by user artisandad. It was almost perfect, but I decided to tweak it a bit to better suit my needs.

I replaced the countersunk screw holes (which tend to crack the print when tightened too much) with washer-head screws featuring a 10mm head diameter. This modification also increased the contact surface area, helping to better stabilize the part.

The element mounted to the front of the drawer was reduced to just one screw, which allowed for more flexible installation without collisions or limitations related to the cabinet structure. Removing one screw also improved the part’s elasticity and reduced the risk of cracking at the base.

I modified the screw holes to allow 2mm of movement, which makes it possible to precisely adjust the components even if the screws are inserted slightly unevenly.

There are two print profiles: one with a height of 20 mm and another with a height of 16 mm. I added the lower version after trying to install it in the drawer under the oven, where there wasn't enough space for the drawer to close properly with the 20 mm version mounted.

For me this seems way too stiff to be operated easily if at all. basic design is good but some tweaking of thicknesses needed to make this really functional.

Thanks for your comments! Try printing with PETG, it will be more flexible, I think it will meet your expectations then ;)

why is there no profile for P1S on this design?

Strange, I checked the printer compatibility check, but other profiles didn't show up. It's possible that this profile uses printing by object, or at least the profile editor indicates that this option may limit compatibility.

strong with pla, but should have checked before if it would work with my drawers

excellent print using little filament (around 9g) I printed it to prevent my 1-year-old daughter from opening some drawers. For now, I'm testing it with double-sided tape so I don't have to drill the furniture, but if it doesn't hold, screwing it in will definitely solve it based on my tests. thank you for the print

Spot on. Was worried it’d be too stiff in PLA but works perfectly.
