The purpose of this model is for makers to get a physical feel for the weight of 1 gram, so they can better estimate the optimal density of their own models. It’s meant as a handy reference, knowing that in real-world 3D printing, tiny variations are inevitable.

The model in Bambu Studio is sliced to use exactly 1.00 g of filament, but actual weight can vary due to:

– Using PLA other than Bambu Lab’s Basic

– PLA moisture absorption

– Extrusion multiplier / flow rate calibration

– Filament diameter variation

– Filament density variation from pigments/additives

– Moisture changes before/during printing

– Scale calibration differences (especially for light objects)

– Filament composition (recycled or blended)

– Altitude of your location

These factors make tiny variations normal in 3D printing.
