Description

I wanted to dress up this reading lamp for my kid's room we got from Amazon (see link below). I already had this "LEPOWER" LED clamp on reading light to work from. I borrowed from the 50s style bakelite “beehive” lamps for the overall shape and I added some Fallout design motifs to kind of make it look like something that might be hanging off Mr. Handy or Mr. Codsworth just for fun.

To assemble:

-You need to unscrew the aluminum bezel of the lamp put the smaller printed front piece on plate 2 on the body of the LED lamp and thread the bezel back on to clamp it in place over the printed part (see photo).
-From there just run a line of cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) around the rim of the newly attached part and leave it to fully dry (see photos). Make sure you fit the cut-out area of the rim of both parts printed parts to accommodate the flexible metal goose neck arm.

The reading light I used to design these parts around can be found here:

I used Rustoleum Silver “Bright Coat” paint to do the chrome looking bezel it can be found here. I fine that one in particular looks really good after a few coats and gets semi-reflective. It's very thick and covers layer lines well:
