Description

Boost Me (for free)

Hi, I'm designing these 3D models in my free time (it's just my hobby), always providing all of my designs for free here on Makerworld. Often prototyping requires a lot of material, so if you like my work, consider supporting me for free by dropping a boost. =) But whatever you decide, enjoy the models and happy printing! :) - Oli

🚀 Introduction
I’m excited to share my heavy-duty Offroad Wheels designed specifically for 6.5″ hoverboard motors. At 240 mm (24 cm) in diameter and featuring an aggressive tread profile, these TPU 95A wheels let you tackle dirt, gravel, grass—and whatever else you throw at them.
Please note, that they will probably not work on a usual hoverboard setup. These wheels are rather for other projects, for example gokarts etc.

ℹ️ NOTE

  • Compatibility: Only for standard 6.5″ hoverboard motor hubs.
  • Material: TPU, 95A shore hardness (other shore ratings may require slicer tuning).
  • Left vs. Right: Wheels are handed—left and right versions have mirrored tread profiles for optimal grip and self-cleaning.

🖨️ Recommended Print Settings

  • Nozzle & Layer
    • Nozzle: 0.4 mm
    • Layer Height: 0.28 mm (faster) or 0.16 mm (high detail)
  • Walls & Infill
    • Perimeters (Walls): 5 – 15 walls for maximum durability
    • Infill: 15 – 50 % Gyroid pattern (adjust within this range to tune “squishiness”)
  • Temperatures
    • Hotend: 220 °C (±5 °C depending on filament)
    • Bed: 50 °C (use tape/brim for extra adhesion)
  • Speeds
    • Print: 20 – 25 mm/s (slow to accommodate TPU flexibility)
    • Travel: 120 mm/s
  • Supports & Adhesion
    • Supports: required
    • Build Plate: Heated or unheated; a brim can help if edges lift

🔧 Mounting Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 60 °C.
  2. Warm each wheel for about 10 minutes—just until it’s pliable.
  3. Lightly coat the motor hub with soapy water (dish soap diluted ~1:10).
  4. Slide the wheel onto the hub, aligning carefully.
  5. Let cool at room temperature; the TPU will contract for a tight, secure fit.

⚠️ Disclaimer
I accept no liability for damage to your hoverboard, motors, or personal injury. Always verify fit and clearances before use. Print and fit at your own risk!

✨ Happy offroading! Share your photos and any custom tweaks in the comments below.
