Sliding Drawer for IKEA Samla Box (11L)

DIY Project with 3D Printed Components

This custom-designed drawer solution is made specifically for the 11L IKEA Samla box. It fits easily into a kitchen cabinet or workshop cupboard, offering organized storage and easy access to contents—perfect for tools, accessories, or small items.

What You’ll Need:

  • 3D printed parts (all necessary STL or STEP files are included in the download)
  • 8x screws, type 4.0 x 17 mm TX15 (recommended for securing the base – prevents detachment when pulling out the box)
  • 2x bookbinding screw M8 x 16 mm (link: https://amzn.eu/d/6bfC0Sk )
  • IKEA SAMLA 11l or 22l
  • Optional: Hot glue or screws to attach the Samla box to the sliding platform

Assembly Tips:

  • The top platform is rotatable, meaning the drawer rails don’t need perfect alignment – making installation much easier.
  • A few drops of WD40 on the rails ensure smooth and easy sliding.
  • Due to the length of the rails, make sure to insert them before screwing them in place – otherwise, there may be issues with the back panel clearance.
  • My cabinet is only 27.5 cm deep, so I didn’t need an end stop. If there’s a risk the rail might detach at the back, a simple block as a stopper is more than enough.
