Description

This is a Router guide in order to create a Matchfit Grid with 100mm spacing, using the Makita Router Base plate in the picture.

The handle must be downloaded here: https://makerworld.com/it/models/1638452-handle#profileId-1731027

Material needed: 2X M5 20mm Screws (countersunk head) with Nuts

To be used you need to have a straight 8mm router bit (not more, not less) to remove the material and create the rail for the guide to work properly (which is 8mm wide).

You need to work the wood sheet from right to left, while you remove the material with the 8mm bit. This way you create a new channel to the left of the rail each time. You can use the provided bit gauge and start with 3mm depth and make all the channels. (I sincerely suggest you to do the X-cuts before the along the wood line for better result).

Then with the Gauge you set the router depth and repeat the above step and do 6mm and then 8 or 9mm,

VERY IMPORTANT:

When you set the Matchfit router bit, you need to work reverse→ you start from the left outer most channel and move your way towards the right. If you dont do it this way you will loose the channel structure.

All the above can be done in the opposite way, which means: if I remove material using the guide on the left and moving to the right, then I will have to move from the right outer most channel to the left when I use the famous (and inexpensive :-D) dovetail bit. I hope this is clear enough. I might add a few pictures if I realize in the comments that is not clear enough.
