Description

MANY CENTURIES FROM NOW…
…with Earth uninhabitable, what remained of humanity journeyed to colonize Mars to make it their new home. But with the evil S.C.O.R.N AI wanting complete control over all of humanity and the heroic G.U.A.R.D refusing S.C.O.R.N's powerful will, both armies ferociously Battles For Mars.

G.U.A.R.D
The G.U.A.R.D military force used to be earths UN military, who greatly assisted with the mass relocation of Earths inhabitants to colonize Mars, before Earth became completely uninhabitable.
With the relocation a success the G.U.A.R.D military force disbanded.
But the guardians later become aware of the evil SCORN AI threat, so picked up arms once again to counter the looming evil Artificial Intelligence. They protect what remains of humanity, protect freedoms and champion our free will all while leading the charge against the SCORN threat. These are the last heroes of humanity.

Mobile Guard Operation Base ( M.G.O.B ) - Phase 2.1
The next phase of B4M starts with the Mobile Guard Operation Base. it was originally a portable low manned mining facility. But was repurposed into the powerful Mobile Guard Operation Base you see now. This mighty machine isn't built for speed. But it is intended to be able to relocate at a moment's notice to pursue and approach battlefields as they come up.

Can swiftly mobilize
Able to house many G.U.A.R.D operatives
Upper body able to rotate 360 degrees, allowing full horizon field of view
Four powerful spring-loaded firing missiles
Sliding barrel action switches
Expansive control room
Exterior minifigure walkway
Lower base compartment for Desert Bike with active operational ramp.

Desert Tank
The desert tank has been utilized for various purposes. It can quickly unpark and un-engage from the M.G.O.B and enter the heat of battle. It's also been built specifically for desert combat. These are mid armoured vehicles, designed to carry less tonnage to help better navigate the desert sandy floor. And although these tanks are lighter compared to their brother vehicles the Disc carriers, they still pack a punch.
Designed to journey across Martian desert floor.
When it is not in use it helps carry the weight of the Mobile Guard Operation Base.
Can house a team of four.
The turret ring can turn 360 degrees.
Has two cannon barrels, doubling its fire power.

Disc Carrier
The Disc Carriers were specifically invented to compliment the M.G.O.B. These are heavily armoured vehicles that can get in the center of action and take a massive beating while at it. These weigh at a whopping 10 tonne, so although these vehicles are slow, they're incredibly powerful.
Heavy Armoured vehicle
Helps carry the weight of the M.G.O.B when the operation base is in traversing mode.
Can fire two deadly anti friction discs that can slice through enemy mechas.
Can seat a team of three.

Desert Bike
Desert Bikes are intended for scouting missions, but the wheels are better suited for desert terrain.
Designed to be quick and agile, after a scouting mission these can swiftly return to base and provide HQ with updates. It should be noted that although these bikes are quick on the desert floor, they are not heavily armoured. So, these are not intended for heavy combat. When not in use, these are housed within shielded protection in the bottom section of the M.G.O.B.
Light Armoured vehicle
Can be stored within the M.G.O.B when not in use.
Can seat a single driver

Filament Requirements
For your reference you’ll normally find approximately 330 metres per 1kg spool of PLA.
The below chart shows the total metres / grams required per colour. This is for the colour scheme have chosen for the Guard Operation Base and associated vehicles.

Minifigurines

These stand just over 2cm tall.
They pilot all B4M vehicles as well as carry out all operational duties. The three from the left are G.U.A.R.D figurines while the three on the right are S.C.O.R.N.
The six pictured above were originally released with Battles For Mars Phase 1. But will be re-released with phase 2.1 as well.
While this crowdfunding campaign commences, I will be designing other figurines to be released with Phase 2.1. So, keep an eye out for updates to see how this progresses.
It should be noted although AMS is required for the multi colour figurines, I am providing single color versions as well for those without an AMS. The multi colour figurines are the only models from the Battles for Mars universe that require an AMS.
Recommended Skill Level
This playset is a great project for people who are brand new to the 3D printing hobby and 3D printing veterans alike. You can start with the smaller models and work your way up as your confidence and experience grows. Or just jump right in with the more challenging projects. As a bonus, parts mostly push fit together. Although, glue will be required for some of the steps. But this is covered in greater detail in the assembly guide.
