Description

This is a basic handle that can be easily attached to most pool skimmer baskets. I've included different length components to accommodate different water depths in the pool skimmer housing. An added benefit of this handle is, it can be used to hold a skimmer sock to the bottom of the basket. It can be assembled to produce a finished length of 9.5 inches (240mm) to 17 inches (430mm). You will have to delete the taller components/plates from your project if your printer cannot accommodate the height. All of the components can be printed on the H2D.

I printed my original using PETG and 4 walls and it has held up well for over a year of continuous use. It takes some time to print but it is a robust design and very durable.

This assembly needs to be weighted in the hollow handle body or it will float the basket when the pump is not running. I used 18mm stainless ball bearings I had on hand. Pennies will fit and also work. Do not use any sort of metallic weight that will corrode in the pool water.

Four #6 x ½" stainless steel screws and two #6 stainless steel washers are required for assembly. Again, use stainless steel hardware. Other metals will corrode in the pool water.

There are two different height handles and two different height main bodies. Decide which parts you need and delete the extra parts/plates from the before printing. The H2D is the only Bambu printer that can accommodate the longest handle body when printed vertically.

The printed 1mm thick washer is optional and can be used with a skimmer sock if desired. It is placed over the sock onto the threaded base before the handle body is installed. This helps prevent the sock from twisting with the handle body installation. Installation requires about a ¾ twist to fully seat onto the base.
