đ˛ Liar's Bar â Beginner's Game Guide
đŽ What is the Game?
Liar's Bar is an innovative mind game built on simple mechanics. Without the need for constant updates or complex rules, it remains fresh through the psychological battles between players. The core strength of the game lies in bluffing, strategy, and perception management among the players.
đšď¸ Game Modes
Liarâs Bar has two main game modes, each with several variations.
One of them is Liarâs Deck, which is played with a specific portion of a custom card deck.
Liarâs Deck has three different variations, each adding more complexity and challenge to the game. All variations are based on a common set of core rules, but each introduces unique mechanics and changes.
đ Card Deck Structure
Liar's Deck consists of 20 cards:
6 Ă Aces
6 Ă Kings
6 Ă Queens
2 Ă Jokers
Each player is dealt 5 cards. In a full 4-player game, the entire deck is distributed among players.
đ Game Start
At the start of each round, every player receives 5 cards.
Then, one card typeâAce, King, or Queenâis declared as the table card.
A player is selected to begin the first turn.
đ Player Turn
On their turn, a player places a certain number of cards face down in the center.
They then declare that all the placed cards match the declared table card (e.g., "These are Aces").
The next player can either:
Play their own cards, continuing the claim,
Or call out âLiar!â, accusing the previous player of bluffing.
â ď¸ âLiar!â Accusation and Outcomes
When a player says âLiar!â, the last played cards are revealed.
If all the cards match the declared type or are Jokers:
The accuser loses and must play Russian Roulette.
If any card doesnât match:
The accused was bluffing and must play Russian Roulette.
đŤ Russian Roulette Rules
Each player has a six-shot revolver with one live bullet.
The player spins the chamber, points the gun at themselves, and pulls the trigger.
Each time the trigger is pulled, the chance of hitting the live bullet increases.
On the sixth pull, death is guaranteed.
đ Player Elimination
If a player is killed during roulette, they are eliminated from the game.
Their turn is skipped in the following rounds, and the game continues with the remaining players.
đ End of the Game
The game ends when the second-to-last player dies in roulette.
This usually happens after one player accuses another of lying.
However, if all cards have been played, the last remaining card is automatically challenged, ending the game.
đĽ DEVIL MODE
The Devil version of Liarâs Deck uses the same rules but introduces one powerful mechanic: the Devil Card.
â ď¸ What is the Devil Card?
One card that matches the table card is randomly transformed into a Devil Card.
This card can be played like a regular match, but only as a single card.
That means whenever you play the Devil Card, you always play just one card.
đ Bluff Accusation and Punishment
If someone accuses you of bluffing when you're playing the Devil Card, and theyâre wrong, the punishment is severe:
Everyone except the player who played the Devil Card must play Russian Roulette!
đ˛ Chaos Mode
Chaos Mode significantly changes some core mechanics of Liarâs Deck.
First, the Chaos Mode deck contains only 12 cards:
5 Kings
5 Queens
1 Chaos Card
1 Master Card
Each player is dealt 3 cards instead of 5, and players may only play one card per turn.
The roulette mechanic also changes. Instead of players pointing the gun at themselves, the player who catches a bluff gets to aim their gun at any player and pull the trigger. The odds remain the same.
Master Card:
If someone falsely accuses a player of bluffing with a Master Card, the Master Card player earns the right to point the gun at any player and pull the trigger.
Chaos Card:
If someone falsely accuses a player of bluffing with the Chaos Card, every player gets to point their gun at a player of their choice and pull the trigger.
