Chess – Magnetic Travel Edition | Snap-Fit-Lid
Print Profile(4)

Description
Originally, I just wanted to print a travel chess set for my son. Although there were many models to choose from, none of them really appealed to me. So, I decided to design my own. After countless hours and many attempts, this wonderful travel chess set was finally created.
The best part is: it's fully magnetic!
During printing, built-in pauses allow you to insert 4x1.5mm magnets:

If you prefer to print the board without magnets, no problem — you can simply remove the pause commands.
Additionally, you can delete all the "negative parts" used for the magnet slots from the print profile.
In Bambu Studio, go to Object and delete the “Magnet negative parts”, as shown here:

Since I wanted to keep the pieces fairly short, I still tried to make sure they are easily recognizable.
For better distinction, the queen and king have color accents, which are printed separately using a dedicated print profile.
I’ve also created a separate profile for printing the lid on a textured effect plate. Many settings were adjusted for this, but one important note: G-code changes cannot be uploaded with the file.
Please manually adjust your printer’s G-code settings as follows:
;===== for Textured PEI Plate , lower the nozzle as the nozzle was touching topmost of the texture when homing ==
;curr_bed_type={curr_bed_type}
{if curr_bed_type=="Textured PEI Plate"}
G29.1 Z{-0.09} ; for Textured PEI Plate
{endif}
These are the settings that work on my P1S. On my A1, a value of -0.05 was sufficient.
I can’t give you an exact value — it depends on your printer.

The lid and board are designed in such a way that the lid fits snugly and securely.
Initially, it may feel a bit tight, but after opening and closing it a few times, it should loosen slightly.
Again, this can vary depending on your filament and your specific printer settings. I’ve calibrated my filament, and it fits perfectly.
I hope you enjoy this travel chess set as much as we did during our vacation — and that your print brings you just as much joy!
