Description
I designed this to support my A2 pulley ligament after a bouldering injury. I do a lot of typing in my day job and this enabled me to continue working while the ligament healed
I tried the C-shaped splint described by Schneeberger and sold on Amazon but found it difficult to get the tension right without pinching the sides of my finger. This model is freely adjustable and doesn't compress the nerves and arteries on the sides of the finger
Here’s some background information on pulley injuries from a medical doctor: https://theclimbingdoctor.com/pulley-injuries-explained-part-1/
Hardware:
- Requires a stainless M3 machine screw and nut, somewhere between 12 and 24mm depending on size
Filament and print settings:
- Don't use carbon fiber or glass filled materials
- Print in the default orientation
- Random seams add a bit of texture and ventilation
Custom sizing:
- Files are provided for finger widths between 12 and 20 mm
- If you have Fusion360 you can change the “finger_width” and “finger_height” parameters as appropriate
- Leave a comment if you need a different size or have problems with scaling
If you aren't able to print this yourself I offer it for sale on Etsy at a nominal price:
