Description

This is a clean and simple reimplementation of a popular stand for the BambuLabs AMS unit

Why pick this model:

  • Securely stack multiple AMS units on top of an X1C
  • Fusion and STEP files are available, remixes welcomed
  • Ready to use after printing one plate. Additional plates add rigidity
  • The handles make it easy to move the AMS stack as a unit
  • The lower AMS is fully accessible, the lid can open to swap filament

Print settings:

  • I used "0.16mm Optimal" in BambuSlicer with two walls and 3% cubic infill, 4 walls for the dowels
  • Print 1x of the side panel plate
  • Print up to 3x of the optional cross bracing plate

Materials:

  • I used Polyterra draft PLA

Assembly instructions:

  • Maybe glue the cross bracing dowels in place to make it stiffer? I didn’t and so far it seems fine

I printed it in PETG for a little more rigidity. Ready for AMS no. 2!

I'm new to printing. Tried using PETG for this along with the thicker print spec and the Engineering Plate only to have a bunch of the pieces not adhere. Can you list your setup steps that you used?

PETG is a little more difficult to print. I recommend always including pictures of failed prints as it makes it much easier to help you. Often, PETG adheres too strongly to the print bed and can damage it. That's why it's advisable to apply a layer of glue stick to make it easier to remove the print later. When encountering problems, it's always worth catching the error in the act of failing! So, observe the print at the critical point. (1)

If the print releases from the print plate, it can have several reasons. Either the support area was too small: Here, the print plate is tippt over by the print head and the vibration. -> More support is necessary and/or print at a lower speed. Or the print has warped due to cooling too quickly, causing the edges to pull up and lose adhesion. -> Strengthen support with a brim/Use a heated print bed/Print at a slower speed. (2)

worked great except had to change the infill type to gyroid from grid, which caused kept causing parts on plate 1 to knock over

This is great, however i remixed it in a somewhat more atractive version (removed the holes changed the front bracket, added some color and logo) and made one more that has flat surface to sit next to the printer for AMS n3 and 4

The print file was awesome, really like the design!! However, I did use the "remix" version on the side panels "just" to get the 2 color option and to eliminate the unused holes. Because with the 2 color side panels this thing just has a huge WOW factor!! Printed high speed, using Creality CR PETG Black and Sunlu PETG Green, the ONLY stringing I had was from the turd tower (purge tower) to the part and was 99% green.

I would definitely recommend adding a brim. print failed twice just beer the top since the sapping between objects would pull it just enough off the plate. didn’t realize but the height required it 3X the height of the X1C so I’m just going to leave the rack on the floor since I don’t have the room.

Great! Simple and just works! If there is a way to hold the lid of the lower AMS when it’s lifted it’d be great.
