I love the palette!  I printed from PLA then coated the pans with epoxy resin for paint resistance, and it works perfectly.

Laid Flat on Plate for A1 and other bed-slingers

Glad you liked it. Yes, I too decided to do it again, and used a "starry sky" smooth plate, and I really like the effect it provides on the two outer surfaces when printed in the "flat on plate" position.

I printed this palette flat on my A1 printer and it came out pretty good. I have some cleanup of the brim, but that's no biggie. I have not decided it I will just accept that it's going to stain from my watercolors, or if should try to seal it with something. Great print!

Given that I'm running a bed-slinger (an A1), it's a bit of a rough ride. Nothing wrong with the model, it's just the typical issues with this type of printer and high vertical sheets. I rotated it 45 degrees on the X-Y plane, laid some brim on it and printed it in PETG. Came out pretty good. But now I'm going to try flipping it so the flat surfaces are laying on the plate. I have a feeling that may work better for me.

I printed a mini version of this for urban sketching.  Love it!

I resized this so it would print on my A1 Mini, it printed great with generic PLA.

Because bed-slingers, like the A1, struggle to maintain smooth vertical surfaces with tall, thin structures, this profile lays the model flat on the build plate. I&#39;ve printed it in both PLA and PETG and both work well with this profile. You will get a warning message during slicing about “floating cantilevers”. Ignore the warning, it will print just fine. Lastly, I added a brim around the inner and outer surfaces to keep it nicely secured to the build plate and eliminate curling. Just let the print completely cool before removing it… trim off the brim… and it works like a charm!  The added benefit to the flat orientation is that it prints faster, so you may want to use it even if you&#39;re not running an A1.

This is a folding, print in place watercolor palette. I developed this because I wanted a tray with fewer paint wells and more mixing spots than any of the trays on Amazon&nbsp;Let me know in the comments how it works for you and if there's different layout you’d like to see
