Description
A mere broken toy? No, no, it was a cherished memory of my childhood.
The world was tattered and worn, toys mended and patched; so much time has elapsed.
I cannot recall the precise age at which I acquired my first Mini 4WD car, but I vividly remember that my inaugural model was the Devil Commander.
It was a moment when the sun hung obliquely in the sky, neither morning, noon, nor even late afternoon. My parents led me through the streets; what we were specifically doing escapes my memory. I only recall that my parents, each holding a hand, could still playfully swing me between them.
We entered a sundry shop that featured a race track at its threshold; the day was still brilliant. Upon our departure, the sun had already receded behind the mountains. I vividly recall the Devil Commander in my hand, its lights illuminated when powered, darting swiftly around the track. After several circuits, only the distant, fiery sunset clouds were visible, and by the time we departed, the sun had completely vanished.
I do not recall the sum my parents expended for my happiness that day; I only remember acquiring my very first Mini 4WD car.
