Description
Aperture Science inspired towel hook
I made these for personal use but unfortunately they did not pass the Trial of the Balrog (wife), which cares little for nerderies.
These are simple towel hooks which can be attached with double sided tape or perhaps a screw. Can be used for cloths, clothes, rags or your favourite oven glove as well. Anything soft that fits really (although no, not that).
I recommend printing the case in PLA or PETG and the iris in TPU. PLA kind of works for the shutter, but it'll be quite brittle.
A few things to note:
- The case must be printed in fairly fine settings, unless upscaled, since the screw threads are super fine.
- Because of the threading, screwing the two pieces together can be a little tricky. Take care not to ruin the threads.
- Support for the tape tracks is probably necessary.
- The TPU part(s) need not be printed with finer settings, standard .20 mm is fine.
- For use with wet fabrics, add a drainage hole.
The iris comes in three sizes:
- All around: Most versatile. Suitable for lighter smaller items. Softest choice.
- Large: For heavier thicker items.
- Medium: For heavier yet not quite as thick items. Hardest choice.
