Description
Mug Jig
I made this mug jig to help me maintain the round shape of my handbuilt mugs. I usually wrap a piece of paper around the jig to help release the jig from the mug after the mug has been assembled. It's important to not leave the jig in the mug while it is drying as clay shrinks as it dries and you'll end up with a crack in your mug (been there… done that).
The file has two sizes, medium and small. Medium makes a nice generous mug for tea, while the small one might be best for coffee. You can scale it to any size you need. I've also scaled it for ramekins. Here's a video of me making a mug with this jig https://www.instagram.com/p/DMZBZVzTI69/
