Description

This is a hood for collecting dust while hand sanding. I use it on a marble slab when I flatten pieces of material for knife handles. It is roughly 10x9x5.5 inches. It is made to connect to a 2.5" standard dust collection hose. There is a grid of holes to prevent pieces being sucked into your collector. This is meant to clear dust away from your work area. It in not a replacement for wearing a respirator or other PPE.  I have an image that shows how I have mine set up.  I have a piece of sandpaper clamped in between the dust hood and the flat slab.  It works great!  It will catch most of what becomes airborne.  To clean the sandpaper you can give it a few slaps with some wood with the dust collector on and it will cause more of it to become airborne and be sucked away.

I highly recommend printing in PETG for increased shock and thermal resistance.
