I sought a method for receiving notifications when my Dedica 685 water reservoir empties, thus prompting the design of this model. The concept originated with jkb.graphics

Required Materials:

  • Ping pong ball
  • Aqara Door and Window Contact Sensor

Assembly:

Insert the magnet and ball into the model.

Affix the sensor to the reservoir externally, "upside down" (refer to image).

Next, insert the base plate into the reservoir, then hold the slider within the reservoir and slide the rail through the model and subsequently into the plate.

Securing the rail within the reservoir requires dexterity. Optimal technique involves a slanted approach, followed by firm pressure to snap it into place and then retracting it to the corner.

Furthermore, an automation is necessary to send a notification when the sensor is "closed". This functionality is achievable either directly through the Aqara app or via external systems such as Home Assistant.

This marked my first substantial CAD project. Feel free to enhance the model
