Geely EX5 Cup Holder Accessory

The standard cup holders in our EX5 really weren’t very useful for our needs and we missed some place to store our sunglasses when not in use. In addition, we only needed one cup holder and that one holder should accommodate not only a coffee cup but also take a larger gym bottle (flask)! NOTE: the use of a large drink container when you are driving could be a safety hazard in the event of an accident! Our use is only for convenience when parked and charging or when not driving.

There are many posts offering solutions to take larger cups, but nothing really suited our needs and appealed.

Hence, I’ve designed the following that allows:

• a pair of sunglasses to be stored in the normal original rubber lined twin cup holder area.
• have a custom plate that fits flat inside the cup holder area.
• on top of this plate, have a single cup holder to accommodate the largest drink container we plan to use. 
• a small drip rim (in case of spills).
• make inserts as needed to that fit into the larger cup holder. This will allow smaller coffee cups to be safely stored.

These probably should be printed in ABS or ASA materials that will last the life of the EX5. PETG would be next choice in materials.
