Description
This is a 3D-printed reduction adapter designed to securely fit 0.2 mL microcentrifuge tubes into rotor slots intended for 1.5–2.0 mL Eppendorf-style tubes. It allows for safe, stable centrifugation of small-volume samples in standard lab centrifuges that lack direct support for smaller tubes.
Key Features
- Precise Fit: Internally contoured to match the shape of 0.2 mL tubes, preventing vibration or imbalance during centrifugation.
- Outer Geometry: Matches the dimensions of standard 1.5–2.0 mL Eppendorf tubes, ensuring universal compatibility with most benchtop centrifuge rotors.
- Material: 3D-printed from high-strength, chemically resistant polymer suitable for common lab conditions.
- Open Slot Design (optional based on visual variants): Allows for easy insertion and removal of smaller tubes with finger access.
Ideal for:
- Labs performing PCR, RT-qPCR, or other low-volume workflows.
- Reducing the need for special rotors.
- Temporary or cost-effective adaptations in high-throughput environments.
