Description

This squirrel habitat is designed to provide a cozy, safe, home for our nut loving tree farmers.  Printed using PLA as I suspect the squirrels will most likely take a bite so ABS and ASA filaments are not recommended.  It should be installed 10 or more feet above the ground, in a shaded area out of wind (south or east side of tree).  *the photos attached are for displaying the habitat only.

Two entry points are baffled internally to prevent Racoons from reaching in.   The modular living section can easily be expanded to add more space.  The internal and external of the habitat also has  ridges to allow the squirrel family slip free access around their home.  The habitat can be attached to a tree using wire (i.e. clothes line) through the access holes or screws using holes in the living module.

Glue is not required for the assembly.

Assembly:

The living module connects to the base module dovetails and a M6 and nut is place in the bottom hole of the living module to prevent the base from detaching.  Use glue if you want a permanent connection.

The top entry module slides on to the living room, it is held in place by the access door.

Lastly, the access door is attached by placing the two pegs into the frame first then using M6 20mm screw to attach the access door firmly in place.  Use a hand driver no power tools.

Printing:

The print profile has modifier cylinders placed around areas requiring additional strength rather than increasing the overall wall thickness.  The modifiers increase wall count from 2 to 5 or 6 depending on area.   Without using the modifiers a wall count of 3 or higher is recommended.

Recommend turning off the Auxiliary fan if using a printer so equipped.  It may cause warping on the left side of the modules.
