Several SodaStream cylinders often got in my way, so I looked for a simple yet functional solution to store them neatly and within reach. Most available CO₂ bottle holders are designed as single or two-piece units, which makes inserting the bottles unnecessarily cumbersome, as you have to align or thread them precisely. I found this too complicated for everyday use, which is why I developed the SodaMount for mounting under a countertop or a cabinet.
The difference between the SodaMount and other holders is that the cylinders can simply be slid through the holder, without any fiddling or precise alignment. This is made possible by the modular design, where the two rails are simply inserted into the end pieces and snap into place with a snap-lock. This not only ensures easier handling but also allows the holder to be assembled as a compact unit, without individual parts needing to be aligned with each other. Additionally, the holder can be easily disassembled again if needed.
To cover different requirements, I have developed several versions of the SodaMount and added them as print profiles:
SodaMount Duo:
The originally developed holder for two CO₂ bottles, which is mounted under countertops, cabinets, etc.
SodaMount Duo SW:
Holder also for two CO₂ bottles, but mounted laterally. In the published print profile, holders for both left and right mounting are included; simply print the desired build plate.
SodaMount Trio:
Corresponds to the SodaMount Duo, but accommodates three CO₂ bottles.
SodaMount Trio SW:
(Coming soon…)
Lateral mounting like the SodaMount Duo SW, but also designed for storing three CO₂ bottles. Holders for left and right mounting are included in the respective print profile.
For fastening, two appropriately long 6 mm wood screws are needed, with which the holder can be securely mounted under the countertop or in another suitable location. I used screws with a length of 100 mm for this (panel thickness: 35 mm) with a screw-in depth of 25 mm.
The model was successfully printed from PLA. The included print profile offers a compromise between stability and material consumption and has proven itself in everyday use.
As this is my first own model, I especially welcome feedback - both on the design and the print profile.
