Description

My wife collects Disney Ears and has quite a large collection. I took inspiration from other ear holders I found online and made my own with some cuts for filament savings and speed of printing. She also collects misc Disney pins so I included a spot on each ear to put some pins. While this space does not allow for mass storage of pins it allows you to decorate the holder with some of your favorites or maybe duplicates that you don't have another place for.

No supports needed for any of the pieces. It should have a good snug fit and will only fits together one way, so assembly is very easy. If your tolerance doesn't allow for a friction fit you may need a drop or two of glue.

I just uploaded a new print profile that adds the ability to link lengths of these ear holders together. There are also longer side pieces that max out the 256mm build plate.

Love the idea. We printed two sets. Had no issues at all. Pins fit snuggly.

I'll check the file right now. I may have uploaded an older iteration by accident.

I just uploaded a corrected file. I had made that mistake early on and corrected the horizontal pieces. The face pieces you printed should be good, you would just need to reprint the horizontal pieces. I apologize for the wasted filament, that was a rookie move on my part for not triple checking the file.

DIL has a few Ears and wanted a holder. Found this one and turned out pretty nice. Think she’s going to love it.

Hi, something is wrong with the model! The Mickey Mouse stands, right and left, print without any problems. However, when I print the middle part, it breaks every time with exactly 9 minutes remaining. It wants to change the filament, during which the hotend cools down and clogs! Only cleaning in maintenance mode at 250 degrees fixes the problem and I can restart the print. But as I said, with 9 minutes left, another error. Please check what the cause might be

Sorry that there has been an issue. That seems like a possible slicer issue though, not a model issue. I have printed this model around 100 times and have not had that issue. I did not include any filament changes in the model I posted. I did have ironing on for the top layers on the side pieces, and that can clog a nozzle easily. I would suggest checking the slicer settings to be sure its not trying to switch filaments and maybe turn off ironing to see if that helps. I am not sure what else could be causing the issue.

Thanks for your timely feedback. So I looked at the slicer settings, smoothing is not enabled, and I can't see any suspicious values in the other settings. It's really strange why I have this problem with the webs. If you have any ideas which slicer setting could be the problem here, please let me know. Sometimes there's just a bug. :o)
