Beautiful, tactile magnets based on one of M.C. Escher's tessellations, Bird, Fish (No. 34).
Not only do they make great magnets, but they double as a fascinating, unique puzzle as the pieces fit together to form the tessellation and bring Escher's drawing to life!
The design uses 8 x 3.5mm neodymium magnets, which are pretty cheap and easy to find online, with one magnet per piece.
Printing & Assembly Tips
No supports necessary! I printed in a couple of colors, which is best to bring out the fascinating appearance of this tessellation. I also printed with ~0.1mm layer height, but 0.2mm layer height turned out pretty well too. The pause to insert the magnets is at about 3.6mm height, depending on the sliced layer height.
