This year, I wanted to create something special for Valentine's Day (it also makes a great gift for Mother's Day). It uses overhanging bridges (printed on the side) to create the illusion of a three-dimensional heart suspended by fragile strings.
This model prints without supports in about 4.5 hours, 0.2mm layer height and wall generator set to Arachne in Bambu Studio. I also activated “Thick bridges” and “Detect Thin Walls” in the slice settings.
I used Bambu PLA basic red, which did a good job for the many thin string overhangs.
I added a dual color print profile, where the strings can be set to a different color.
This technique is not new, my model is inspired by the “Suspended Hand” by STomHacks (https://www.printables.com/model/573397-suspended-hand).
