Description
No matter the 3D scanner I used, I always had issues with tracking and hate (hate) the price of tracking dots. To solve that, I built the Advanced Tracking Surface for 3D Scanners.
The ADS is a modular system that allows you to couple plates (which fit on the bed of the X1C/P1P/P1S/H2D) together, building a matrix of 16 tracking dots per plate to keep track of your object.
Additionally, the system allows you to mount the plates vertically to create a more accurate tracking “wall” to ensure that you more easily keep tracking as you move around your object.
We're not done yet, either! I'm also including a few simple tracking two-part accessories, a cylinder and pyramid, which utilize magnetic bases to easily interface with the ADS plate.
What you'll need in addition to the printing:
- 10mm tracking dots
- 16 per plate
- ~5 per tracking accessory
- 6x3 magnets
- 2 per tracking accessory
