Description

Boost Me (for free)

Boost it up to get those parents out there, their replacement parts!!

If you lost the cap to your solarbuddies sunscreen, just reprint a new one! Added tabs for ease of removal. Add text on the bottom to personalize it! I added a solidworks part with text as an example (supposedly the most parametric aside from f3d). Extrude the text pocket 0.2mm into the part for no supports needed.

Printed in Sunlu PETG, 20% infill, 1 wall, no supports, 270/70 directly from a creality filament dryer. Part is roughly 12g. Use fuzzy skin on contour (outside) for more grip!

NOTES:

May need to scale for fitment.

  1. Not all Solarbuddies are the same!
    • My wife said replacement caps didn't fit on our old solarbuddies, hence why I pursued making a model for them.
  2. Try the Ovalized version first!
    • Shape will allow for some room for the groove to expand/snap on the solarbuddy
    • Available with my personal text (as an example) or without
  3. For the NonOvalized version
    • Stick within size range of +/- 0.5%.
    • If the model you print is too tight, scale up NonOvalized Model 0.5% (to 100.5%)
    • If the model you print is too loose, scale down NonOvalized Model 0.5% (to 99.5%)
  4. If you use a different filament it may not shrink as much as PETG and be too loose, or opposite, could shrink more and be too tight. So be prepared for some trial and error. I was finding the difference between fitting and not fitting, as little as 1% size difference.
