Earth Federation Forces RX-75 Guntank Mass Production Type

The RX-75 Guntank Mass Production Type is a long-range support MS developed by the Earth Federation Forces for artillery warfare, and is a mass-produced prototype of the RX-75 Guntank.

Due to the exorbitant cost of the Guntank's design, this mass-produced prototype underwent adjustments primarily to reduce costs.

Firstly, as land-based equipment without beam weaponry, the decision was made to forgo nuclear power. The Minovsky fusion reactor was removed, replaced with an older, less expensive, but equally powerful, turbine engine system. Secondly, the complex and costly core module was eliminated. Although this reduces crew survival rates, it increases production efficiency and allows the upper body to rotate like a tank turret, enhancing firepower mobility.

The machine's operation and fire control are separate systems, requiring close coordination between the pilot and gunner. Armament includes two shoulder-mounted 120mm low-recoil cannons with lengthened barrels for enhanced anti-MS capabilities, an enlarged ammunition compartment, and two retained wrist-mounted quadruple grenade launchers.

To reduce the probability of being hit, the head size was reduced, but the antenna was lengthened to improve communication capabilities. To increase the unit's functionality, other engineering equipment can be fitted, such as a heavy crane arm. With minor modifications, the mass-produced Guntank can be used as a mobile suit rescue and engineering vehicle.

However, this model's performance is not outstanding, resulting in low production numbers. Three units participated in the Federation Forces' assault on a secret Zeon base in Southeast Asia, where they were all severely damaged under the assault of Colonel Norris Packnard in his MS-07B-3B3 Zaku II.
