Description

This is a reusable mold designed for casting concrete weight plates, available in two versions :

  • 30 mm bar
  • 1-inch bar

The mold includes a reinforcement-ready center sleeve to strengthen the weight using basic steel wire.

Material Warning – Do NOT Use PLA

PLA is not suitable for concrete casting. It becomes brittle and will begin to crack and crumble after just 2–3 uses due to moisture and alkaline exposure from the curing concrete.

Print with PETG , ABS, or another more durable, chemical-resistant material.

For even greater durability, apply a thin coat of polyurethane clear spray or acrylic spray to seal the mold surface. This helps prevent moisture damage and improves concrete release.

Center Sleeve & Reinforcement System

The included sleeve design features 5 small holes for steel reinforcement wires. This reinforcement significantly increases the durability and structural integrity of your concrete weights.

 How to build  the reinforcement

  1. Cut 5 pieces of 3 mm steel wire, each 11 cm long.
  2. Bend one end of each wire into a candy cane shape.
  3. Pinch the bent end to create a tight loop.
  4. Insert the bent wires into the 5 holes in the printed sleeve.
  5. Take 75 cm of 2 mm steel wire and thread it through all 5 loops, forming a secure ring that holds everything together.

Bill of materials:

  • 60 cm of 3 mm steel wire (for 5 support rods)
  • 75 cm of 2 mm steel wire (for reinforcement ring)
  • 12  M3 × 15 mm bolts
  • 12 M3 nuts
  • Acrylic or polyurethane clear spray (for sealing and mold protection)
