Description

A model of the Hexagon "Wafflemaker" Suppressor from the game Escape from Tarkov.

Designed for 14mm CCW airsoft barrels.

It has an 8.7mm inner bore, allowing inner barrels to be inserted inside.

Using an extended barrel greatly reduces the chances of baffle strikes.

If used with out the inner barrel, the alignment of the parts have to be perfect.

Glue is needed to join the two main pieces to the muzzle device. No screws or additional hardware are needed.

A detent pin hole secures and locks the suppressor in the correct orientation.

An M3 set screw (any length) can also be used to lock the orientation, only if your gun does not have a compatible detent pin.

My print is finished on a K1C with a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.08mm layers, using SunLu Black PLA+, on a smooth PEI build plate.

Print Options:

  • Split (Default):
This is the default print profile. Originally designed to accommodate a tracer unit (still WIP). This version produces a better print result. Requires glue for assembly.

This orientation is also recommended for materials with low layer adhesion (such as ABS and Nylon), as it internalizes all the support interfaces, meaning they won’t affect the exterior appearance and are mostly hidden after assembly. This makes it much more forgiving when printing with difficult engineering materials. It is designed for the Smooth PEI Plate, and I strongly recommend printing this profile with a smooth build plate.

  • Vertical:
A simplified and modified version that prints in two main pieces and requires glue to assemble the flash hider and suppressor.

This orientation should only be used with materials that have strong layer adhesion and cool quickly (such as PLA), since the side hex pattern is unsupported and relies on the printer's ability to handle short 60° overhangs cleanly. This orientation also reduces the glue needed, so if you don't like applying glue, use this profile. (But it does not look as good as the split version, trust me)

  • An additional single-piece vertical file is also included. This version does not require glue, but it sacrifices some detail, especially around the flash hider. It should only be used as a last resort when barrel alignment issues are causing baffle strikes.

  • The profiles are geometrically different.

NOTE:
PLA and similar materials will deform when exposed to sunlight or high temperatures. If you plan to use this suppressor outdoors or in direct sunlight, it's recommended to print with a more heat-resistant material, such as PETG, ABS, ASA, or Nylon.

This is a longer print, so if you plan to print this model, I recommend previewing and tweaking the settings as needed before starting the print.

IMPORTANT:

The Split (Default) print profile is sliced for the Smooth PEI Plate. If printing on the default Textured PEI Plate, change the build plate setting to Textured PEI Plate (as they have different Z-offset) to avoid first-layer issues. It is also recommended to use a smooth plate or other methods to increase first layer adhesion and reduce warping, and for easier alignment and adhesion of the two split parts together.
