RC Car Controller Wheel

Introducing my new model… an RC Car Controller Wheel. I know that may not sound the most exciting. But trust me, if you use this it will change your driving experience way more than you would think. 

I created this model because I just didn't really like the feel of the original turn wheel on the Spektrum SLT2 Controller. It just didn't really feel that great to use. It wasn't unbearable. But I knew that I could create something better with the power of 3d printing and designing. So after a couple different ideas, designs, prototypes, and tests, I have the finished product. This model was designed in Fusion360. I utilized the fillet tool in some areas to give it a nice rounded feel. The wheel itself isn't really based of any real car rim. I just tried a couple different patterns and that is what I liked best. The wheel prints in 2 parts. The rim and the tread. The reason why it prints separately is so you can print the tread in TPU. Which just pushes it the extra mile. It feels a little more tacky and nice. To connect the two pieces all you have to do is force the tread onto the wheel. It is as simple as that. Since TPU stretches I made the tolerances tight enough so that It could be a press fit instead of having to tediously glue it on. I copied the original turn stoppers and mount so my wheel is exactly the same. It also screws on just like the original. So make sure you don't lose that screw during disassembly! You do need supports for the inner wheel but I have tweaked the slicer settings to make it come off like butter. Just let the model cool down, get some pliers, and it should come right out. Below I have included assembly steps to make it easier.
