Description
The Ultimate 3D Printed F1 Car
A detailed scale model of the 2025 McLaren MCL39 with livery sticker sheets.
Key features of the model and print profile:
- Assembled dimensions of 260 x 95 x 58 mm, or 1:21 scale roughly of the real thing.
- Model split so that it can be printed on 3D printers as small as the A1 Mini.
- Can be printed entirely in black PLA - all the colour comes from the stickers
- While the actual model is based on the 2025 McLaren car, there are also sticker sheets for the 2025 Red Bull and Ferrari F1 cars for use with the same model. Now you can pretend you have a driveable car while still being a Red Bull or Ferrari fan.
- Downloadable step file (.stp).
- There is a single A4 sticker sheet per car downloadable as an SVG or PDF.
The model requires some assembly and glue. Check out the assembly guide in the additional documents on how to put the model together.
Stickers are a great way to decorate your 3D prints. You can buy blank sticker paper from most office supply stores to print these sticker sheets on a regular paper printer. Or you can get them printed from a printing service for slightly better quality. Make sure not to scale the stickers when printing and print without margins.
It is a lot of work to cut out and add all the stickers, but absolutely worth it for the finished product.
There's an additional print profile in case you want to print the rubber part of the tyres in TPU instead of PLA. The model of the TPU tyres is slightly different to the PLA ones.
Checkout the print profile description or the 3MF for the recommended print settings.

Updates and changes
Update January 2026
Updated the original print profile (PLA, Split, 2 Plates) and the Front Split and Without Supports with changes to the Mid Body. It now has a seat built-in and some other minor changes to the model around the seat. The rest of the model bodies are unchanged. Some changes to the print settings have been made, particularly to the Front Body so it can print more reliably with the supports still easy to remove.
- Also uploaded a separate print profile that includes a steering wheel and a hole in the Mid Body to hold it. The two parts of the steering wheel have to be glued to each other. If you want a steering wheel included as part of the model, print the Mid Body from this print profile instead. Since this requires extra supports for the Mid Body, and the steering wheel ideally needs to be printed with a 0.2mm nozzle, I didn't included these changes in the original print profiles.
Update 24 September 2025
Lorenzo (@lorenzoff) on MakerWorld made a better version of my McLaren stickers with more detail. Specifically, this is Piastri's livery for the 2025 Belgium Grand Prix. I've uploaded his sticker sheet as the zip file 'McLaren Livery 81 PIA Spa 2025 - Detailed'. I used these stickers (with some changes of my own) for another one of these that I 3D printed. But for this model, I also sanded, painted and used vinyl stickers instead of the paper stickers used for the models in the original photos.
