Description

This is super specific, but since somebody asked, I am posting it.   I am using the Electron Retracts with the TopRC Odyssey RC jet.    The nosegear door doesn't have a servo, it just has a spring.    Since the electron nosegear has a very square-shaped strut, sometimes the door will catch on it, causing the gear to fail to retract.   I made this “cow catcher” to sweep the door out of the way while the nosegear is retracting.   I printed in ASA.   This went through many iterations.  Sometimes the door would find creative ways to hang up, so I increased the angle, made it asymmetric (to avoid the edge of the door), made it rounded (to avoid catching), and also I put wax on the door edge and the cow catcher.  I have not seen any failure-to-retract with this version.   For some pictures and other discussion see discussion on RC Universe, https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-jets-120/11636609-introducing-top-rc-model-odyssey-new-sport-jet-build-thread-28.html#post12822908
