Description

I built this specifically for my Henredon Murphy Modular sectional. I wanted it to be easy to move different parts around and have them lock together still. I couldn't find anything that would connect to the bottom of the sectional and still be thin enough for the factory included feet. This model is only about 7mm tall, so it is thin enough to fit in extremely tight spaces or under most furniture pieces.

After installed, the locking mechanism simply needs to be pushed into the pins at a pretty straight forward angle. The lock can be released, if installed on the bottom of the couch, by lifting the edge with the triangle pins upwards.

Installation note: The pins and locks need to be installed relatively accurately, the same distance from the front/back of the furniture piece and square with the edges of the furniture pieces, to have a stronger hold. The more square and lined up the two pieces are, the stronger the locking mechanism will keep things together. I predrilled all the holes for installation of the wood screws.

This print requires 1 M5 x 6 mm screw, 1 M5 Nut, and 9 #6 x 5/8" wood screws

just bought the Costco Thomasville sectional…super comfy…so much so that kids love to stick their feet between the cushions, which pushes everything apart. These were exactly why I was looking for. was able to fit 6 on a plate and printing in petg.

same situation here. the metal connectors off amazon were too thick and would scrape the floor. this fits perfectly. thank you @PickleRick69 for this design. its perfect!

Few questions, what size drill bit did you use to pre drill? What material did you print with, how strong does it hold up? If there was more room under the couch, would making the print thicker benefit it at all?

I used a 7/64" bit, but you could probably be okay with a 1/8" or 3 mm bit. I printed with a Polylite PLA Pro, but if you wanted to try Bambu filaments, you could try a high flow PETG or the new PLA Tough+ filament. It has held up extremely well. I haven't had a single piece break or unintentionally become disconnected (several weeks now). If a piece were to break, it would be easy enough to reprint the individual piece that broke and replace it. There could be potential strength benefits to printing a thicker one if you have space, but it would require you to lift it higher to disconnect it. If you would be interested, I would be willing to post a thicker version of my design.
