Description

ANH Computer Interface Arm

I finally got to work on putting together a droid, and when I got to the arms I always wanted the computer interface component to look more like the one in the movie.  There are other STL’s out there that look great, but they mostly improve on the design instead of trying to duplicate it.  This works with @Eebel’s great arm mechs.

Files

  1. Arm
  2. Arm Connector
  3. Interface Body
  4. Top Body
  5. Copper Ring
  6. Interface End

Instructions

  1. Glue the Interface End onto the Copper Ring
  2. Glue the just assembled end onto the Top Body
  3. Screw the Top Body onto the Interface Body.
  4. Detail the finished Interface Connector (see documentation)
  5. Insert a 1/8” rod into the Interface Body, which the other side will be glued into the spiral “corkscrew” piece from the @Eebel files.  I used a electric guitar string attached to the corkscrew piece.
  6. Screw on the Arm Connector to the main arm.

ps.  The Interface End is currently not a part of the .3mf file and I'm trying to figure out how to update that file.  You can download it separately.
