This is a brake piston lock for the typical Yamaha R1 R6 and other calipers

This prevents the brake pistons from being pushed together, for example by actuating the brake lever, when the caliper is disassembled.

The lock can be inserted into the brake caliper from both the front and the back.

However, if it is to be inserted from the rear, the spring plate must not be mounted. When mounted from the rear, the lock performs at its full potential, as it is designed to be slightly larger than the common brake disc thickness. This gently pushes the pistons inwards. To mount the caliper, simply place the caliper including the lock onto the brake disc and push it forward. The brake disc then automatically ejects the lock. Easy mounting of the brake caliper, as the brake pads no longer shift or get jammed. If the lock is inserted from the front, this naturally does not work.

Possible brake disc thickness:

4.5mm
5.0mm
5.5mm

6.0mm

others on request. The respective brake disc thickness is visible on the lock.

Example: 55 --> 5.5mm, 50 --> 5.0mm etc
