Please review the following instructions thoroughly before printing:
Updated July 26, 2025: Slightly increased the clip thickness for enhanced strength and easier actuation, and the print profile has been optimized for a lighter pen body.
Updated July 24, 2025: Added pen bodies with 12mm and 16mm diameters (the initial version was 14mm), and a conical grip. With 3 pen body and 5 grip options now available, you can create 15 combinations for a personalized feel. Added texture to the clip surface to eliminate cooling marks.
Updated July 23, 2025: Added a triangular grip, bringing the total number of grips to four.
I sought to design a truly practical everyday pen, and after numerous iterations, I've achieved a satisfying result. I've designed multiple grip styles (with more potentially to come) to ensure everyone finds their perfect fit. Every detail, dimension, and tolerance of the model has been rigorously tested and refined. Functionality is reliable and printing is straightforward. The print profile parameters have also undergone extensive optimization; even the threads are flawlessly designed for effortless tightening and a seamless fit.
Before commencing printing, please carefully review the following instructions:
- Compatible with most pen refills approximately 110mm in length. I personally tested Pilot, M&G, and Dongmi refills. Given the slight variations in nib diameter (between 2.3mm and 2.5mm) among different refills, two nib opening diameters are provided (2.4mm and 2.6mm). Pilot G2 refills can directly use the 2.6mm version, while M&G and Dongmi refills are compatible with the 2.4mm version. If using other brands and lacking calipers, I recommend printing the 2.6mm version first. If the nib feels too loose, then print the 2.4mm version.
- When printing multiple parts simultaneously, consider enabling “print individually”.
- A spring is the only non-printed component needed. Selection criteria are quite lenient; any spring that fits over the pen refill tip will suffice. A 0.4x6x20mm spring can be purchased if needed.
- The print profile has been thoroughly optimized. Simply set and calibrate your filament parameters, clean the build plate (apply glue for PETG filament), ensure proper bed leveling, and print.
- When using gradient filament, it's recommended to print the pen body before the grip to achieve optimal gradient effects.
- Due to the “random seam” setting, the printed surface may exhibit a slightly rough texture. This can be easily smoothed with fine-grit sandpaper.
- Regarding grip selection: The slender (waisted) grip suits most users. Feel free to print and experiment with the other styles to find your favorite.
Finally, I would love to see your print results. Please feel free to leave a comment if you encounter any issues. I'll gladly assist in any way I can~
