Description

This project is a simple, durable rope belt using ½" polypropylene rope and custom 3D printed friction fittings. It’s designed to be both functional and stylish — great for everyday wear, cosplay, utility use, or as a unique DIY accessory.

The 3D printed parts include:

  • Melt ends to prevent fraying and give a clean finish
  • A cinch loop that holds the knot securely without the need for metal hardware or a traditional buckle

🧵 Assembly Tips:

  • Use a lighter to carefully seal the ends of the rope before inserting into the end caps
  • Secure the knot with the printed TPU loop at your desired tension — the friction of the rope and loop holds it in place
  • Add Heat shrink to connection point and ends for cleanest appearance

🖨️ Print Settings:

  • PLA, PETG, or any rigid filament for the passthrough piece
  • TPU for the retainer loops
  • No supports needed

🛠️ Recommended Rope: ½ inch (12mm) braided polypropylene

This wearable print is quick to make, fun to assemble, and has a clean look that stands out. A great addition to any maker’s functional print collection!

I've been wearing mine in construction conditions with no slipping for months now.
